Roy A. Frost 74 of Yarmouth Port passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on July 6, 2021.

Born, raised and educated in Waltham, Roy was the son of the late Roy E. Frost and Elisabeth (Mattson) Frost. Roy resided in Waltham for most of his life before retiring on the Cape in 2010.

After graduating from Waltham Sr. High School, Roy enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Photographers Mate and earned several merit and campaign medals while serving in Vietnam.

Upon returning home, he worked for Polaroid for 43 years, holding many positions in manufacturing and engineering until retiring as an R&D Engineering Technician. A life-long boater and recreational fisherman, he passed this love of the ocean on to his children and grandchildren. One of his favorite retirement activities was taking the grandkids out clamming and crabbing. He also loved animals, especially his grand-pups, Charlie and Odie.

Roy is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol A. (Gatta) Frost; his children Angela M. McQuillan and her husband, Rene of Bellingham, Ryan M. Scafidi and his wife, Sarah of Waltham and Roy E. Frost II and his wife, Stefania of Waltham; and six grandchildren, Jeremy, Alyssa, Julia, Ryleigh, Connor and Sofia. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother James R. “Jack” Frost.

Services will be held in private.
