What is a Graveside Service?
A graveside service may follow a tradition funeral, precede a memorial service, or be a stand-alone event attended by family and friends. The service is held at the gravesite where the body or cremated remains are to be interred and is typically fairly brief. Often families will choose to hold visiting hours at the funeral home the day prior for the public and then have a small gathering of close friends and family at the gravesite for the service.
