Richard J. McGrath, 65, of Dennis passed away on February 27, 2021.  He was born in Yonkers, New York on March 28, 1955, the son of John Francis and Mae J. (Carroll) McGrath.

 

Richie was a “free spirit” and had a flare for cooking.  He worked at restaurants in Naples, FL for over thirty years and returned to Cape Cod to help care for his aging mother.  He continued to cook and grill locally, and was employed by the 99 Restaurant in West Yarmouth. 

 

He was an avid sports fan and totally enjoyed the recent BRADY and BUCS victory.  He loved late-night TV and was a movie buff, able to quote lines from an abundance of films. Corporation Beach was his special place, where he would go to relax by the calming surf.  He was a friendly “salt of the earth” man and will be sadly missed.

 

He is survived by; his brothers, Kevin McGrath and his wife, Helene of East Dennis and John McGrath and his wife, Kathy of Killingworth, CT and his sister, Judy Adams of Elmira, NY, and many nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the convenience of the family.

Rich was a wonderful man and friend and I will miss him. May his memory be for a blessing.
