Brenda M. Henry (Byrne) 84 of Dennis and Naples, FL was called home to Heaven Tuesday September 29, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving family, including her devoted husband of 62 years, Robert D. Henry; her four children, Robert, Daniel, Mark and Cynthia; eight grandchildren, Robert, Kate, Kristen, Steven, Atticus, Finbar, Scott and Kevin; and two great grandchildren Abelein and Jo-Jo.

Brenda was considered, by family and friends, as one of Scotlands finest exports. Her delicate brogue blessed the ears of many who had the fortune to converse with her.

Raising four children kept her busy and helped her refine the parental balance of providing unconditional love with teaching respectful politeness. She could command instruction with a delicate glance... but was not above using a blue-eyed glower to convey higher expectations.

Brenda saw much of the world, from the waves of the Atlantic coast, the golden sun of Florida, the masterpieces of Italy and France, the heights of the Swiss Alps, the sparkles of the California vineyards... but seemed most at home in the bustling warmth of a rich kitchen conversation with family.

Brenda was all about self-less giving and expressed her joy of life through reading her boooooks, creating a library of thoughtful rug-hooking masterpieces, assembling and stitching huge personalized quilts, taking cherished walks of wisdom with family members, immersing toes in the Cape Cod sand, operating a home with Mary Poppins precision and enriching others with musical nods, such as “What a Wonderful World.”

She sprinkled humor upon trying times, often making them pass as quickly as they came.

Brenda was a loving companion to her husband of 62 years and her embrace of doughnuts, muffins and Manhattans will not too soon be forgotten. She was known as a cherished Nana to her grandchildren and happily took spoiling her grandkids to a glorious new level.

A memorial celebration of life is planned in the future, after the tears have subsided.

The bagpipes will sound in her memory, echoing “will ye no come back again” and as she requested, a Beatles quote to live by, “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”

I hated hearing this news. I am so sorry for this huge loss that you have to endure. I loved your Wife so much, she was one of a kind. I know that my Mom will be keeping her company and helping her pass the time until you can be reunited. Thinking about and praying for you all. Patti
