Carlo "Nappy" Napolitan of Yarmouth, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Cape Cod Hospital at the age of 85.

Nappy was born in Springfield, MA to Carlo Sr. and Ann Marie Napolitan. He was an Army Veteran from the Korean War. On June 21, 1958 he married the love of his life Marie Gurreri of Enfield, CT. They raised a daughter, Donna and two sons Richard and Ronald. Carlo and his family moved to Cape Cod in 1974.

Nappy's wife Marie of over 60 years was his entire world. He could tell you like it was yesterday the day he met his wife and knew he was going to marry her. The smile on his face each time he told it showed just how much she meant to him. His meatballs were a recipe no one could replicate. Half the time he barely had any left over to freeze because his family would be cycling in over the weekends stealing the freshly made batch. His quick wit and humor was a laugh to make your stomach hurt. His enjoyment of being a prankster always brought everyone a laugh - especially when his wife was always the target.

Nappy was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Army veteran, cancer survivor, lifelong friend to those near and far. He had an infectious personality to make you smile, laugh, and brighten your day. He always had an old western movie on, a college football game and for a man who never hesitated to say "Bah Humbug" he'd have a Christmas movie on even if it was July. Most importantly, His love for his friends and family was endless and unconditional.

Nappy is preceded in death by his daughter Donna Marie Napolitan, father Carlo Sr, and his mother Anna Marie, his sister Anna and husband Edward Carpenter, and his in-laws Charles and Louise Gurreri. He is survived by his wife Marie, his two sons Richard and wife Tina Napolitan, Ronald and wife Lisa Napolitan, six grandchildren James, Amanda and husband Clinton Jamieson, Nicholas Napolitan and his fiance Jenny Martin, Kevin Napolitan, Stefan and wife Taysha Napolitan, and Alex Napolitan, two great-grandchildren Zoey Donna and Riley Marie, as well as many extended family members.

On behalf of Nappy's family we want to extend our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff on South Two at Cape Cod Hospital for all of their efforts in ensuring Nappy was not alone when he passed when his family couldn't be there due to the safety and risks of COVID-19. For caring for him around the clock making sure when he did pass, it was peaceful. For the constant communication with our family before and after he passed ensuring we are okay and they are available for anything we need.

At a later date and time his family will be providing information for services and funeral arrangements. We ask at this time in lieu of flowers to please donate food to your local food pantries or charity of your choice.
