Timothy J. Wren 77 of West Yarmouth passed away peacefully Thursday February 27, 2020 at Maplewood at Mayflower Place Nursing Center in West Yarmouth, following a brief but courageous struggle with cancer.
Born in Bridgeport, CT, Tim was the son of the late Edward and Gladys Wren. He was a graduate of Newtown High School in Newtown, CT and Western Connecticut State University.
Tim’s teaching career spanned thirty years in the Monroe School System in Monroe, CT, where he taught math and served as president of the Monroe Education Association.
After his retirement in 1996, Tim and his wife, moved to Cape Cod and built their retirement home and spent twenty four happy years enjoying all that the Cape has to offer.
Tim loved to cook and participated in the Men’s Cooking classes at the Yarmouth Senior Center. He was a devoted member of the West Yarmouth Congregational Church and where he had just become a deacon, he served on the Mission team serving lunch at the Salvation Army, and he was also a member of the Men’s Fellowship. He was an avid sports fan, and he had an amazing memory for sports statistics especially as they related to the Boston Celtics.
Tim is survived by his wife of fifty two wonderful years, Karen (Spicer) Wren, and his much adored cats, Kenzie and Will.
A memorial service will be held at at a later date.
All are invited to celebrate Tim’s life and join in a collation following the service.
