Carl M. Dosenberg, 76, of S. Yarmouth, MA passed away on January 17, 2020, after a lengthy illness. Carl was born in Quincy and raised in East Braintree. He was the son of the late Fredrick and Mildred (Pearson) Dosenberg.

Carl was a retired Weymouth Police officer, and served in the US Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. After his commitment to the military, he would then go on to earn a football scholarship to the University of New Mexico, and eventually received a BA from Eastern Nazarene College.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Mary L. (McDonald) Dosenberg, his sons Eric J. Dosenberg of New Bedford and Kurt M. Dosenberg of Cotuit, and brother Fred Dosenberg of Weymouth. Carl was also the proud grandfather of Ryan M. Dosenberg and Eric M. Dosenberg of New Bedford.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday January 23, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Pius X Church on Station Ave, South Yarmouth. Interment will follow at 12:30pm at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.

Mary, Please accept our deepest condolences. Carl was a close friend and always very welcoming with a sharp intellect and quick wit. We loved how he would impersonate John Wayne by imitating his swagger walk and sounding just like the "Duke" with one of his movie quotes. He was talented in many ways, and we'll always remember the many evenings playing Trivial Pursuit and always loosing to Carl's team.
