George E. Picard

George E. Picard, 85, of East Dennis, passed away on December 21, 2019, surrounded by his loving family, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Louise (McNulty) Picard for 63 years.
Born in Shrewsbury, MA, he was the son of the late George Joseph Picard and Isabelle (Michaud) Doray, and was brother to the late Edward Picard.
George graduated from Oxford High School in 1952 serving as class president. He also graduated from Worcester Trade School where he learned his lifelong trade as a foundry pattern maker. He proudly served his country in the US Navy being honorably discharged in 1959. George lived in Brockton, Easton and East Dennis. A gifted craftsman George was happiest doing projects around his home, wood working and spending time with his family.
Besides his loving wife, George is survived by his three daughters: Christine Collier and her husband, James; Julia Tevis and her husband Richard; Amy Sidlauskas and her husband Richard, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Emily Collier and her husband, Nick Benziger, and their son Ethan; Shawn Tevis, Elizabeth Tevis and Allison Tevis; Sarah Sidlauskas and her fiance, Nick Feltham, and the late Daniel Collier and Michael Tevis. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 9:00am at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Cape, 468 Stony Brook Rd, Brewster. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Dennis.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Stroke Association or to a charity of your choice.
