Lucy “Lucia” Felice of Yarmouth Port passed away peacefully on October 26 at the age of 99 (100 next month). Born in New York City on November 23, 1919, she was the daughter of Joseph and Lucia (Gerardi) DeMarco. Lucy attended Cathedral High School followed by Grace Business Institute, both in New York City.

Lucy moved to Mt. Vernon, NY where she met her husband, Salvatore “Otto” Felice at Mass at their neighborhood Catholic church. They were married in Mt. Vernon on December 6, 1942. Otto passed away in May, 2009. They were married for 67 years.

Lucy was a woman ahead of her time, working full-time while she raised her family. She worked in advertising in New York City, and in 1953, she and Otto moved to Valley Stream, NY where they raised their family. Once her children were in elementary school, Lucy returned to work in the school they attended in UFSD #30 in Valley Stream, working for many years as the Health Benefits Administrator for the district, as well as the secretary to the Assistant Principal. In addition to these positions, she was also the District Clerk for the Board of Education, and the Supervisor of the Supervisory Committee for the Teachers’ Federal Credit Union.

In 1985 Lucy and Otto retired to Heritage Village in Southbury, CT where she enjoyed the country lifestyle. They lived there for nearly 30 years. She enjoyed walking, family times, cooking magnificent meals for her family and intellectual activities. She was proficient with figures and overseeing family finances. She was a natural born caregiver, having watched over her younger siblings as a child, and continued this nurturing of all her family members throughout the years. She and her husband were always “there” for the people they loved. She had a beautiful smile and sunny face that will be missed by all who knew her.

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Joanne Tremaglio, and her husband, Donald of Yarmouth Port; her son, Stephen Felice, and his wife, Lori of Southbury, CT; her step-grandson, Matt Tremaglio, and his wife, Jennifer, of Brooklyn, NY; a step great grandson, Wyatt Tremaglio, of Brooklyn, NY; and a sister, Teresa DeMarco of Larchmont, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Otto, a son, Robert, and her four siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 2-3 p.m. Services will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY at a later date.
