Teresa Jean (Lohr) Flynn
Sep 8th, 2019
West Dennis: Known to friends and family as Terry and often described as one of the most selfless people one could ever know, Terry Flynn, 67, lost her long battle with lung disease on Sunday, September 8 at the Cape Cod Hospital.
Born in Hyannis, to Arthur and Jean (Purdue) Lohr, Terry grew up in West Dennis on Swamp Maple Farm, the Lohr family home where she honed her skills as an award-winning horseback rider, winning two first place honors in the esteemed New England Equitation Championships.
Terry was proud of her years in Washington DC and her career at the Pentagon with the United States Defense Department, but her true passion centered around her family as she provided the "go to" gathering place for every holiday and birthday where her special "black magic cake" was the star attraction.
Terry’s home was a warm and welcoming haven and she was truly the steady focal point and caregiver extending kindness, humor and unselfish devotion to friends and family members.
She is survived by her children, John, Sabrina, and Barry and her beloved grandchildren, Jaydan and Kayleigh. In addition, Terry will be missed by her surviving siblings, Craig, Mari- Jane, and Scott and her extended family of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Virginia and her parents Arthur and Jean.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth, MA on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. with a celebration of Terry’s life to follow at 12:00 noon. Interment will be private.

I am so sorry to hear of Terry's passing and of her fight with lung disease. I knew her and Craig from our participation in the horse shows at Cape Cod Rough Riders on White's Path. I later saw her at the grain store on Station Avenue at the end of White's Path. There were many shows on Sundays and Saturday nights, Terry and Craig, as well as Mom and Dad, Jean and Arthur. Even shows down in Provincetown. It was a good time to grow up and good people to spend the time with. I remember those days fondly and even though we all went our separate ways and lost touch, those memories make me smile and the loss makes me very sad. Rest well, Terry, your struggles are over. I am sure there are horses in Heaven, take a long ride for me. I wish I could be there on the 14th but I live in Downeast Maine now and won't be able to make the trip, but I will be thinking of you all.
