Marianne P. Eubanks (Walker)

May 17th, 2019

Marianne P. Eubanks  (Walker) 75 of Cummaquid died Friday May 17, 2019 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

She was the wife of Kenneth E. Eubanks. They had been married for 46 years.

Born in Buffalo, NY, Marianne was the daughter of Josephine (Todaro) Walker of West Yarmouth and the late Adam N. Walker. She was raised in the suburb of Kenmore, NY and graduated from Kenmore West High School and from the Bryant and Stratton Institute. She moved to Cape Cod in 1973 and received her Associate’s degree from Cape Cod Community College in 1979.

Before she and her husband, Kenneth, started their road construction business, she worked for Congressman Gerry Studds, Merrill Lynch and the Barnstable School District. She took an early retirement in 2009 and shifted her focus to volunteer work.

Marianne was a Past President of the Rotary Club of Yarmouth, a member of the executive board of the Yarmouth Rotary Foundation, and a Paul Harris Fellow. She served as trustee of the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, an executive board member of the Cape Cod Chapter of Boy Scouts of America and the Eagle Scout Review Board, executive board secretary of the Yarmouth Food Pantry, co-chairman of the Yarmouth Street Art Festival, board member of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, and Past President and membership chairman for the Cape Cod Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild.

A talented artist, Marianne studied oil and watercolor at the Cotuit Center for the Arts and the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to the theatre, watching foreign films, practicing yoga, gardening, the ocean and the smell of salt sea air. A long-time Patriots season ticket holder, she enjoyed going to games at Gillette Stadium and Fenway Park - but would still cheer for the Buffalo Bills, as long as they weren't playing the Pats.

In addition to her husband and mother, Marianne is survived by a daughter, Tamara DiCesare and her husband, Paul of Concord; a brother Gary Walker and his wife, Janice of Ashburn, VA; two grandchildren, Juliana and John DiCesare; her father-in-law, R.L. Eubanks, and her sister-in-law, Judy Van Alfen, both of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers-in-law, Ben Eubanks and his wife, Marcia of Bethel Island, CA and Robert Eubanks of Arlington, VA; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 22 in St. Pius Tenth Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

Interment will be private.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday May 21 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

Ken, Tammy and Paul; My heart was saddened to hear of Marianne’s passing. One of the most memorable weekend trips my late husband and I ever took together was to the Cape to visit Ken and Marianne. Marianne was a wonderful and gracious hostess and we felt right at home. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had great fun attending a Patriots/Redskins game while there. I pray the many wonderful memories you have of Marianne’s life will provide you some comfort during your time of grief. My Love and Prayers are with you, Dorothy
