Kenneth R. Vincent 84 of Yarmouth Port died Friday January 11, 2019 at Maplewood of Mayflower Place Nursing and Rehab. Center in West Yarmouth.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Jane (Miley) Vincent, who died in 2012. They had been married for 41 years.
Ken was the son of the late Everett and Marion (Wright) Vincent. He was born in Boston, grew up in Quincy and was educated in North Quincy and Boston. Ken retired as a Vice President after serving more than 35 years with New England Telephone.
A longtime resident of Marshfield, Ken moved to Yarmouth Port in 1984.
Ken’s passions included fishing, which he learned in summers as a young man in Long Island, Maine, woodworking, where he made many items for his family members that will be cherished forever, ballroom dancing, where he and his wife were referred to as “Fred and Ginger”, and his love for his pets, the latest, his faithful dog, Myles, with whom he spent 17 years.
Ken was the loving father of seven daughters, Michele Byrne and her husband, Richard of Scarborough, ME, Gayle Titus and her husband, David of Centerville, Doris Devlin of Hyannis, Elva Todd of Osterville, Robyn Keefe of Marstons Mills, Becky Noe of Somerville, and Mimi Fowler of Cotuit; three sons, Michael Vincent and his partner, Diane Sarkisian of East Providence, RI, Peter Johnson and his wife, Diane of New Vineyard, ME, and the late Austin Fowler, III. He was also adored by fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday January 17 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
Interment will be private.
