Carl Otto Wenberg
Aug 14th, 2018
West Yarmouth, MA: It is with great sadness that the family of Carl Otto Wenberg announces his passing on Tuesday August 14, 2018 at the age of 82.
Born in New Rochelle, New York on December 17, 1935 he was the second son of the late Otto and Harriet Wenberg.
After serving in the USAF during the Korean War, Carl and his loving wife, Marion, of 59 years, made Cape Cod their home. Carl was a Special Police Officer for both the Yarmouth Police Department and the Barnstable Police Department. Carl worked for the Colonial Gas Company retiring after 30 years. He was a member of the Howard Lodge, AF & AM and a member of Local Union 13507.
Carl had a very strong passion for Heroes in Transition and was an avid supporter of “Assistance Dogs for Veterans”. He spent much of his time researching dogs and helping with placing the dogs. The respect and admiration he displayed for veterans was heartwarming. If you had the privilege of knowing Carl you could hear it in his voice when he spoke. He was very quick witted with a sense of humor that went on for days. One of the things he most enjoyed and looked forward to was going to Panera in the morning and meeting his buddies for coffee. Lord only knows what those fellas talked about… “Thank you guys for being a part of his life.”
Carl will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife and best friend of 59 years, Marion (Scott) Wenberg of Yarmouth, MA, and his three children: Jeffery Wenberg of St. Paul, MN, Timothy Wenberg of Burleson, TX, and Erica Wenberg of West Yarmouth, MA. Carl will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Jonathan Scott Wenberg, Candace Lee Colvin, Sophia Wenberg, his daughters-in-law: the late Barbara (Cuykendall) Wenberg , Adriana Wenberg , and Mary Clouten-Wenberg . Carl is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and countless friends and his special four- legged companion, Hanna.
“To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die”
