Marjorie enjoyed the many simple joys of growing up on Cape Cod. During the Depression, she would often help to gather beach plums for jelly or bayberries to be melted for candles. She spoke of her pride in helping the war effort and worked at the local jelly plant during the World War ll. She loved spending time with her many siblings, who affectionately nicknamed her DeeDee, and often talked about how they created their own simple fun.

As a teenager, Marjorie discovered roller skating and spent many hours at the rink. In her early twenties, she married and would raise four children over the course of four decades. She loved to cook for her family and friends and was regarded for her famous “Nana’s fudge”, world class creamy mashed potatoes and her special way with potato salad. Later in life, Marjorie enjoyed trips to the Christmas Tree Shops for trinket to give her family and friends, weekly gathering with her sisters for tea and playing the daily numbers game. She was so very proud of her Cape Cod heritage, dating back to the Colonial era. The family would like to thank the staff at Knollwood Nursing Center for their extraordinary care given to Marjorie during her time of illness. Also, special thanks to JHC Hospice for their guidance and support.
