James Elias Terpos

James “Jim” Elias Terpos, 77, of Coconut Creek, FL and formerly of Dennis, MA, passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Kasey (Economos) Terpos and their two sons: Louis Terpos of Ellicott City, MD and Philip Terpos of Bronx, NY, a daughter-in-law, Colleen and two grandchildren: Theodore and Theresa. He is also survived by two sisters: Nikki Yannatos of West Yarmouth, MA and Bessie Remoundos of Hollywood, FL, two sisters-in-law: Rhoda and Irene Economos of Brockton, MA and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Hyannis to Elias and Helen (Isso) Terpos and grew up in Barnstable, graduating from Barnstable High School in 1958. He later attended Dean College where he was an All-American soccer player. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Upon returning to Cape Cod, he entered the grocery business, owning two locations, the Dennis Public Market and Chatham Public Market.
In his mid-twenties, he was introduced to golf and had a successful amateur career, recording ten holes-in-one and competed in several tournaments. He was a past member at Bass River Golf Club, Dennis Pines Golf Club, Cummaquid Golf Club and Palm Aire Golf Club.
Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 4-7 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA. Burial in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit, MA.
