Phyllis M. Grindell, 81, of Dennisport, died Monday, July 27, 2015 at home after 15 years with Dementia. She was the wife of Clyde N. Grindell for 62 years.
Born in Cambridge, Phyllis was raised in Somerville, where she graduated high school. She worked as a Bank Teller and for many years, managed the family business, Grindell’s Ocean View Park in Dennisport.
Phyllis was a winter resident of Summit, Colorado for 25 years. She was an avid skier, enjoyed camping, sailing and traveling.
She was the loving mother of Gary and Bruce Grindell, and Cheryl Cochran; sister of Marilyn Terrell and grandmother of seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, from 4-7pm, in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 31st, at 11:00AM, in the Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Monday, August 3rd, at 10:30AM, in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, MacArthur Blvd, Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472

Dear Clyde and family, I just learned that Phyllis passed away in July. I am so sorry that I did not know earlier. Charles and I hope that you can all find some peace, remember the good times, and also thank yourselves for all of the care you gave her over so long a period of time. Hope to see you soon, Jean
Dear Clyde We remember Phyllis in Summit County from skiing and partying. We especially remember our visit with both of you in Cape Cod a few years ago and the wonderful tour you gave us. We miss Phyllis and remember how much fun we had. Sorry for your loss and know this must be a tough time for all your family.
