Helen (Wrobleski) Campbell
Oct 27th, 2017
South Yarmouth, MA:
Helen, “Pinky”,(Wrobleski) Campbell would like you to know that her work here is done. She received a call, like an offer you just can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. There’s a huge upside here, a reunion with family, friends and beloved pets she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be back to socializing, dancing lots of polkas, and gardening to her heart’s content.
Helen was born and raised in Easthampton, MA. In 1937, she moved to New York City, where she worked in advertising and public relations. There, she met her husband, John. They were married in 1939 and had three children, Nancy, Thomas and Jeanne. After living in Evanston, IL and Mount Kisco, NY over many years, Helen and John retired to South Yarmouth, MA in 1977. She lived on the Cape for the remainder of her life.
Helen focused much of her time and energy on several organizations throughout the years. In Mount Kisco, she was very active with the local chapters of the ASPCA and Salvation Army. In South Yarmouth, she dedicated herself to both the Cape Cod Symphony and the Dennis-Yarmouth Ecumenical Council for the Prevention for Homelessness (DYECH).
Helen leaves behind her daughter, Jeanne Campbell, three granddaughters, Kimberly Markey, Elizabeth Moore and Kelly Wagener, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Her husband, John, her daughter, Nancy, and son, Thomas preceded her in death
.
A celebration of Pinky’s life will take place at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to DYECH @ www.dyech.org or Broadreach Hospice @ www.libertycommons.org/hospice-palliative-care.
