E. David Kurriss, age 81, of Bass River and formerly of Sudbury, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 7, 2017. He was the devoted husband of the late Deanne (Lennon) Kurriss for 52 years. Born in Boston and raised in Brookline, he was the son of the late David A. and Emma (Oberle) Kurriss. Loving father of Anne M. Cantin (Michael) of Ashland, Kimberly V. Kurriss of Maynard and David A. Kurriss (Laura) of Ashland; and beloved Papa to Emily, Christopher, Carmella, Phoebe, Molly, James and Chatham, who will miss him deeply. Brother of the late E. Virginia Cavallaro and the late Eleanor O. Kurriss. He also leaves two nieces and a nephew. He was an alumnus of Walnut Hill Country Day School, Saint Sebastian’s High School, University Tulsa and Georgetown University. He served honorably with the Army National Guard. With his B.A. degree, Mr. Kurriss spent his entire career with Bridgestone-Firestone Corporation, where he held executive management positions in New York and the New England area. He and his family eventually settled in Sudbury, MA; where they lived for almost 30 years before he and his wife retired to Cape Cod in 1999. A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sacred Heart Chapel with interment at Woodside Cemetery, both in Yarmouthport.
