Born on December 2, 1946 in Amsterdam NY, an only child, to the late Charles and Phinniah Sullivan. Carol lived in Germany with her husband and her first born while he served in the US Army until he was posted in Vietnam. She then moved to Dennisport residing with her in-laws. Carol blessed everyone she met. She opened her heart and home to kids on choir tour and families who were trying to save up for their own home. This carried into her business as well. She gave teens their first summer job and a lot of them ended up staying on through graduation, becoming part of the family. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Carol loved teaching the youth at church in Harwich and spent a lot of time taking them to youth events and concerts. She love the annual Soul Fest outing in New Hampshire and loved to sing and dance to the music of the News Boys, Michael W. Smith, Chris Tomlin and Third Day. Carol was a Head Start bus driver and then became a full time rural letter carrier for the Harwich Post Office. She could always be seen in her right hand drive, four wheel, bright orange International Harvester Scout. In 1978, she moved to West Chatham and by 1983 she started her home-based business, Chatham Jam & Jelly Shop. Meanwhile, she took management classes at Cape Cod Community College, and watercolor classes at the Chatham Creative Arts Center. She cared for her aging mother and her elderly Aunt Gladys in her home until their deaths. In 2014, Chatham Jam & Jelly expanded and moved to a new location a mile down the road. She was an active member of the Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Robert "Robin" Cummings, Jr, her two sons Robert A. Cummings III and his wife Karen of Marstons Mills, MA, Charles A. Cummings and his wife Erica of Centerville, MA; two daughters Effie Cummings of Harwich, MA and Meredith Richter and her husband Ryan of Hyannis, MA; and three grandchildren, Kyle Cummings, Nathaniel Cummings and Alyssa Richter. Carol, we loved you and was so appreciative of your generous and kind spirit. You cared about everyone, and your love of God showed in everything you did. The angels broke out in celebration when they saw you were coming home, because heaven just got a little sweeter. We will meet again, where we will be able to sing those songs you loved so much, with better voices and eyes on our LORD. We'll miss you, but only for a short time.
