Dennis, MA:  Arlene Marie (Kuchyt) Livingston, 75, of Dennis, MA
passed away at home with her loving husband and sons by her side on May 3rd.  She shared her characteristic joy and grace with her family and many dear friends through her final days, and succumbed to ovarian cancer, at peace, having lived a happy fulfilled life.

Born in Northampton, MA on March 8, 1942, she was the daughter of  Michael and Anna (Wziontka) Kuchyt of Hatfield, MA.  She graduated from Smith Academy in Hatfield, MA and  went on to graduate from UMass, Amherst, School of Education in 1963.

She was the loving wife of Kenneth for over 51 years.  Most of all she cherished her time as a devoted mother and grandmother to son, Kenneth M., his wife, Jill, and their daughters, Sonia and Isabella of West Hartford, CT, and son, Brian J. and his wife, Megan, and their children, Wyatt and Fiona of Bainbridge Island, WA.  She also leaves an older brother, Walter Kuchyt, of Hatfield, MA.

Arlene was a creative and sensitive elementary teacher in Hingham and Weston, MA, and Guam and Micronesia, while her husband served in the U. S. Air Force.  After moving to Cape Cod, she was co-proprietor, for  ten years,  of the Dennis Village Mercantile, a gourmet delicatessen, where she was affectionately known as “Pie Lady” by scores of loyal customers.

She was a committed member of the Village Garden Club of Dennis and a social golfer with the Dennis Niners.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life at a later date at Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster, MA where she was a communicant.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in Arlene’s memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Ovarian Cancer Research, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445 or to sponsor a cyclist in the Pan Mass Challenge.
