Jacomin “Jack” R. Basile, of Hyannis, formerly of Dennis and CT, son of deceased parents, James and Katherine Basile of Fort Lee, NJ. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years , Cynthia (Merna) Basile. In addition he leaves three children, Robert Basile and his wife, Karla Block, of New Sharon, ME, Richard Basile and his wife, Kim, of Orange, CT and Jacqueline Nolan and her husband, David, of Falmouth, MA, stepson Peter Merna of San Bruno, CA, and stepdaughter, Holly Guydish and her husband, Joseph, of Mountain Top, PA. He was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley (Bridge) Basile.
Jack grew up in Fort Lee, NJ. He was a WWII Navy veteran and received a Purple Heart for his service on the USS Hancock while stationed in the Pacific After a career in the dental industry and raising his family in CT, Jack and his wife retired to Dennis. He enjoyed weekly rounds of golf at Dennis Pines and Dennis Highlands with many wonderful friends. He was a member of the Cape Cod Model A Club, restoring many Model A sedans, convertibles and trucks over the years.
He and Cindy fostered many lab puppies for the Guiding Eyes for the Blind. He leaves his faithful canine, Skye.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Wednesday, March 8 from 4-6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 9 at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street, Centerville, MA. Interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Dennis, MA.
