Lucy M. (Oxley) Donoghue 95 of West Yarmouth died Saturday February 11, 2017.
She was the wife of the late Daniel F. Donoghue who died in 2004. Born in Lytham St. Annes, England, Mrs. Donoghue was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Clabby) Oxley.
Mrs. Donoghue served with the Royal Air Force in England during World War II. After the war, she moved to the United States and lived in Woburn, MA for over 20 years before moving to Cape Cod in 1969. She worked for many years as a broker and owner of D&B Realty in West Yarmouth. She was a very active woman who enjoyed aquatic fitness.
Mrs. Donoghue is survived by four sons, John and his wife, Donna of Norfolk, VA, Geoffrey of Laguna Woods, CA, Martin of Harwich, and Bernard and his wife, Cindy of Yarmouth Port; a daughter, Kathleen Darring and her husband, Michael of Cotuit; and nine grandchildren, Céile, Lynne, Michael, Cameron, Sean, Tracy, Steven, Matthew, and Patrick. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Daniel, and a sister, Kathleen Barker Norris.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday February 16 in St. Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 686 Washington St., Winchester.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday February 15 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
