Richard Dresser. I believe that no one could be a better role model than my Dad. He demonstrated constancy in his love for family, an ability to rise to any occasion. I thank the Lord every chance I get that I am his son. Before I was born, he was a great man to my Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles. Through the dark times of WWII he served his nation to preserve good in the world. He supported and encouraged my Brothers and Sisters, and cared for his Wife, my Mom. From my earliest memories as a toddler of him carrying me up to the mountain of his youth and allowing me to march with my older brothers in the July 4th parade, through my teen years painting his parents house with him, to him welcoming me back into his home as an adult, he has always been patient and supportive. His quiet faith has instilled in me the strength to accept and overcome adversity, and to appreciate when life is good. I have looked upon my Father with immense admiration, more than mere words could hope to express. And I love him.
Sorry tha I am unable to attend his funeral, helping on Martha's Vineyard. I have many wonderful memories serving with him while living and assisting at St. Francis over the years. I will celebrate a Mass for him. May he rest in the Peace of Christ. Fr. Tom
