Helen (Cheromcha) Green 86 of Yarmouth Port and formerly of Dedham died Sunday October 2, 2016.
She was the wife of the late Edward Green, who died in 1985. Born in Boston, Helen was the daughter of the late Ignacy and Helen (Zerzuska) Cheromcha. She was a graduate of Dedham High School and later attended Massasoit Community College in Brockton and the Hickox School in Boston.
Helen loved to cook, quilt and travel around the world. Two of her most memorable trips were on a cruise to Alaska and visiting all of the Eastern Bloc countries so that she could see Poland, the birthplace of her parents.
Helen is survived by her children, Diane Lipstock and her husband, Eliot, Robert Green and his wife, Tammy, and Cynthia Green; a granddaughter, Becky MacCurtain and her husband, Jim; a great granddaughter, Porter; a sister, Gloria Gaides and her daughters, Debbie, Jenny, Susie and Linda. In addition to her husband, Helen was predeceased by a son, James, a daughter, Nancy, and a brother, Henry.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday October 7 in Brookdale Cemetery, Brookdale Ave., Dedham.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday October 6 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
