Dorothy Claire (Gaquin) Borkowski, age 93 of South Yarmouth, MA dearly loved for her cheerful, loving nature, died peacefully in her home on September 25 .  Born in Boston, MA in 1923 she was the youngest daughter of Michael Gaquin and Della (Mulhern) Gaquin.  Upon graduating from Regis College in 1946, she pursued a career in social work at the Boston Psychopathic Hospital, but always knew her true calling was to be a mother.  She was the wife of the late Winslow J Borkowski MD and is predeceased by her siblings: the late Mary T Gaquin, Thomas E Gaquin, John F X Gaquin, and Edwin Gaquin. She leaves behind her five children, Winslow J Borkowski MD (Debora) of  Omaha, NE, Kathleen M Orlando of East Dennis, MA, Justin P Borkowski Esq (Theresa) of Springfield PA, Regina M Hisey (Richard) of Gwynedd Valley, PA  and Teresa A Borkowski MD of Chestnut Hill , MA. Also survived by five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Pamela, Brian, Megan and William, and many nephews and nieces.

Her devotion to faith was a constant in her life. She also loved singing, particularly with her church choir, and each day her comforting voice could be heard throughout the house singing a Gershwin tune or music from the 1940s.

Most important in her life was raising her five children in her loving and compassionate way.  She will always be remembered for her sense of humor and her heartfelt ability to make everyone feel special.
She truly cherished visits from friends and family and time spent with nieces, nephews and grand children in her home on Cape Cod.

Audrey's dear Auntie Dot was a lovely person. She set a fine example of how life should be lived, and I feel privileged to have met her. Elsa Bennett
