Annette M. Hailer

Sep 21st, 2016

Annette M. Hailer 90 of South Dennis died Wednesday September 21, 2016 at Pleasant Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brewster.

Born in Boston, Annette was the daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Gormley) Hailer and the sister of the late Francis Hailer, Jr. Annette’s business career began in Boston working for the Johnson Wax Company before moving to Cape Cod in the late 1960s to become a founding partner in the real estate firm of Lynch and Hailer of Dennis MA.

After a successful run in the real estate business, Annette took on a new challenge in 1987 at the Barnstable District Court. She retired in 2001 as an operations supervisor. Never one to sit around, she led a busy retirement life. She volunteered at Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster and at the Jacob Sears Library in East Dennis. Annette had a happy, independent life making many friends along the way. As a longtime Red Sox fan, a well-used copy of the Red Sox Media Guide could always be found beside her favorite chair in the living room. Her loyalty to Fenway’s boys of summer was finally rewarded with three World Series championships.

Annette is survived by a step-sister, Donna Radosta of Dedham; and several loving cousins from Cape Cod to Virginia and to Florida.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday Sept. 26 in Our Lady of the Cape Church, 468 Stony Brook Rd., Brewster.

Interment will follow in Dennis Village Cemetery, Dennis.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday Sept. 25 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to The Jimmy Fund, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 www.jimmyfund.org.

I have been unable to reach Annette. Decided to look her name up in the internet and found that she had died. I am one of her Gormley cousins from the Boston area. I have been ill and not able to visit her and take her to lunch as I always did. I knew about the procedure she had on her eyes and that she was planning another procedure. I am so very sorry that she has died. I loved her sense of dry humor and will miss it. Jeannette "Gormley" Griffin (I had already sent a message but I am not sure that you received it)
