David D. Willett 62, formerly of West Yarmouth, passed away Wednesday August 31, 2016 at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
David was born in Salem, the son of the late George D. & Rose (Pashalian) Willett. He was raised in Chatham, where he graduated in 1971 from Chatham High School and soon after moved to Florida. There he met the love of his life Sandra Mathis. They wed in 1976 and recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
He was the beloved father of three daughters, Christina Pacella and her husband, Ronald of Walpole, Laurie Hulten and her husband, Marc of Yarmouthport, and Sara Bowdridge and her husband, Josh of Leominster. He was the cherished “Bampy” to his adoring grandchildren, Lexie and Max Hulten, Zachary, Harrison and Donovan Bowdridge, and Anthony, Victoria and Gabriella Pacella. One of six children, he was brother of Susan Williams of Dennisport, Stephen Willett of Denver, CO, Elizabeth Willett of South Yarmouth, Peter Willett of Huntsville, AL, and Martha Willett of San Diego, CA.
David had a passion for Telecommunications and when he and his family relocated from Colorado to Cape Cod in 1983 he solidified his career by becoming owner of Inter Island Telephone in 1991. He had a love for good music, good food and enjoyed sharing both with family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday September 12 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
Interment will be private.

Dear Tina, Sandy, Laurie, and Sara- We are so, so sorry for your loss! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. I have such happy memories of Dave- always a smile and never once complained, even with everything he was going through. I know that the kids will always have very fond memories! He touched us all!
