David B. MacIntosh, Jr. 73 of West Yarmouth died Tuesday August 16, 2016 at his home, with his wife and daughters by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Jane D. (Goldthwaite) MacIntosh. They had been married for 48 years.
Born, raised, and educated in Quincy, David was the son of the late David B. and Helen (Batson) MacIntosh. He was a 1961 graduate of Quincy High School and a 1966 graduate of New England College with a degree in business. An active member of the Massachusetts National Guard, David served in a leadership capacity.
David worked as a technical sales representative for the Truesdale Chemical Company from 1983 to 2000 and for the Univar Chemical Co. from 2000 to 2006. Following his retirement, David enjoyed working part-time at Advance Auto Parts in Hyannis.
David was a member and past chairman of the Rhode Island Rubber and Plastics Group in addition to being a member of the New England Chemical Club, the Boston Rubber Group, and the Bass River and Bayberry Golf Clubs in Yarmouth. He was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Yarmouth, where he served as an usher, Deacon, and participated in several other church activities. David was a member of the Order of DeMolay at the Rural Lodge in Quincy and was a Master Mason for 12 years with Fraternal Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Centerville.
Blessed with a loving family, David enjoyed 73 wonderful years. He had a terrific outlook on life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. David was also an avid New England sports fan.
His sense of humor, friendly smile, and outgoing personality always lit up a room. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by two daughters, Heather Frazel and her husband, Richard of Forestdale, and Lisa Morin and her husband, Eric of Franklin; a brother, Robert of Winchester; a sister, Nancy Paul of Holden; and his adored grandchildren, Connor and Lauren Frazel and Bradford, Tucker, and Wesley Morin.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday August 25, 2016 in the First Congregational Church of Yarmouth, 329 Main St. (Route 6A), Yarmouthport, MA 02675.
Interment will be private.
