Margaret E. (Stephens) McPherson 89 of South Yarmouth died Wednesday July 6, 2016 at the Kindred Transitional Care – Eagle Pond in South Dennis.
She was the wife of the late Frank J. McPherson, who died in 1990.
Born, raised and educated in Arlington, Mrs. McPherson was the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Curran) Stephens. She was a 1944 graduate of Arlington High School.
Mrs. McPherson was a member, Past National Chaplain and Regional President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Sandwich Chapter and a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in South Yarmouth.
Mrs. McPherson is survived by a son, William McPherson and his wife, Paula of Watertown, WI; a daughter, Kathryn L. McPherson Potter of South Yarmouth; two brothers, Alfred Stephens of Somersworth, NH and Bruce Stephens of West Yarmouth; three grandchildren, Caitlin and Megan McPherson and Mackenzie Potter; a sister in-law, Jean Stephens of Wilmington, NC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. McPherson was predeceased by two brothers, W. Terence Stephens and William C. Stephens.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 9 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery, West Yarmouth.
Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
