Robert Philip Boucher

Robert Philip Boucher, 88, of Harwich, Massachusetts died on May 6, 2016 succumbing to Alzheimer’s, after being well cared for many years by his other family at Rosewood Manor. The second son of Phil and Grace Boucher, he was born and raised in Somerville, MA. He was predeceased by both his brothers, Henry and Francis.
After enlisting in the Army and finishing his time in Alaska, Bob worked for many years in the federal government as a postal inspector in Boston. He often would speak of his years of gathering evidence following the 1962 Plymouth mail truck robbery.
Bob was an avid fisherman all his life with a special affinity for fly fishing. He was president, treasurer and contributor to the United Fly Tyers of Boston for many years in the 1960’s. He was a founding member of Northern Adventures, producers of outdoor films & a lecturer of various fishing expeditions done in the US and Canada. He also was a lifetime member of Trout Unlimited. He enjoyed speaking to all with an interest about his many fishing trips. He enjoyed collecting fishing rods, reels and flies, he and friends had tied over the years.
He met his late wife of 29 years, Priscilla A. McDonald at a singles dance near Boston. They lived in Melrose, MA and Hollywood, FL before he became a widow. He leaves behind a daughter, Kristen (Boucher) Lind of Yarmouth and his son-in-law, Alan Lind and two grandchildren, Joshua & Erika Lind.
He always loved children and will be fondly remembered by many friends and family for his willingness to join them in play and listen to them as they grew up.
A memorial service and private burial at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Bourne will be planned for a summer date.
