WEST YARMOUTH – Anne Mary (Kenney) Cifelli passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 19, 2025, in her home overlooking Swan Lake, where she lived for 59 years. Although sad to leave us, she looked forward to reuniting with many others, including her lifelong love, George (Sonny) Cifelli, who predeceased her in 2008.

Anne was born in Cambridge, MA, on November 17, 1945, the daughter of the late Miriam Hope (Poole) and Joseph Peter Kenney. She moved to Cape Cod in 1949 and lived in Dennis and Yarmouth during her youth. Anne graduated from Dennis Yarmouth High School in 1963. She spent many years working at Bass River Pediatrics in clerical roles and also worked for the Dennis Yarmouth school district as a health aid caring for countless children.

She was predeceased by her brother, Peter Kenney of Hancock NH, and her sister Patricia (Kenney) McDowell of Dennis. She is survived by her daughter Catherine Zaikis and her husband Brian of Twin Lake, CO, as well as her son John Cifelli and his wife Annie (Hennessy) Cifelli and their two children Ella and James Cifelli. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends.

Anne would like to be celebrated, rather than mourned. She would encourage us to honor her memory by being helpful and kind; by listening and laughing. A remembrance service will be held in late spring, when the days are warmer. The family would like to thank Broad Reach Hospice for their compassionate care and services.

We were so lucky to have moved here 15 years ago and acquired a fabulous neighbor and a loving friend. We will miss you ❤️

So sorry for your loss! Anne and Sonny were a very special part of our lives! So happy you got to make that trip to the Grand Canyon! She loved it! So fortunate I was able to spend some extra time with her, these past months, overlooking Swan Lake. Her favorite place!
