Doris Ann Aubin of South Dennis, MA and formerly of East Hartford, CT passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving children. Born on January 23, 1936, in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Ella Bacur. Doris is the beloved wife of the late Oscar C. Aubin, Jr., with whom she shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. She is now reunited with the love of her life after 25 years apart.

Doris was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy-Bay View, Class of 1953, and a woman of great faith. While living in East Hartford, Doris was an active communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, where she taught CCD classes. After moving to Dennis in 1994, she joined St. Pius X Parish and became a member of the Catholic Women’s Club.

Professionally, Doris worked as a caregiver at Our Children’s Place in Glastonbury, CT. She specialized in infant care, a role she was passionate about and excelled in before retiring to Cape Cod.

Doris enjoyed going to all beaches, especially Corporation, Mayflower and West Dennis, cooking (Spicy Sicilian Meatballs), solving puzzles, and collecting shells, lighthouses, and countless Cape Cod tchotchkes. She also never met a plant or flower she didn’t want to take home. Above all, she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Kathleen LaPlant; son, Christopher Aubin; daughter, Lisa Aubin and her husband, Rob Peterson; granddaughter, Alexandria LaPlant and her partner, Ryan Kelly; and grandson, Zachary LaPlant and his fiancée, Eden Fritz Aguiar.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Kathi Allen, whose compassionate care allowed Doris to remain independent and live in her beloved South Dennis home during her final years. We are forever grateful.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 9:00–10:30 AM at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth, MA. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5 Barbara Street, South Yarmouth, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cape Cod Council of Churches, 320 Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601 or The Family Pantry of Cape Cod (133 Queen Anne Road, Harwich, MA 02645.

I was introduced to you many years ago as Mrs A when I was working with Chris on a show in Manhattan Beach CA. I could tell from the moment I met you that you were a special person. I also got to introduce you to my beloved dog Max who instantly took a liking to you! Dogs know special people. Over the years Chris has kept me up to date on your life and I loved hearing all about your adventures, your home and your love of family. RIP Mrs A! I know you were greeted by your loved ones and you’ve earned your special place in heaven. You’ll be missed here on earth by all that knew you. Rest well xoxo
