Robert “Bob” Daley, 64, of West Dennis, MA passed away on November 11, 2024 in Boston surrounded by family. Bob was born to Francis “Bump” and Ruth Daley on July 26, 1960 in Albany, NY. He graduated from Bishop Maginn High School and later received his Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality from Johnson and Wales in Providence. A job as the Food and Beverage Director at the Sagamore Resort on Lake George moved Bob and his family to Queensbury, NY where he later owned his own insurance agency for the rest of his career.

He was married to Cathy, the love of his life, for just over 38 years. Bob is survived by Cathy, his sons Bryan, Spencer, Michael and Eric, their partners Zach, Lauren, Mackenzie, and Molly, and his six siblings and their families. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Bump and Ruth. At the age of 55, Bob and Cathy moved to Cape Cod, a life-long dream of Bob’s, having spent vacations there as a kid and then later on summer trips with Cathy and his boys. It was his favorite place to be and he was so pleased to spend his final years there fishing, going to the beach, and meeting new friends.

Bob will be remembered for his warm personality and quick wit. He was always ready with a joke and brought joy to all those around him. A fantastic chef, Bob’s family and friends will miss his cooking (especially his meatballs) almost as much as they already miss him.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave. South Yarmouth, MA on Monday November 18, 10 -11:30 am. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Pius X Church, Station Ave, South Yarmouth at 12:00. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Harwich, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s name can be made to the American Heart Association (heart.org)

While our adult lives took us in different directions, we grew up as best friends and I will always cherish those memories. Bob always had a laugh and kind words for all. Cathy, you and your family are in our prayers. Tom

Hello Cathy and Bob's extended family. It's with great sadness that we take note of Bob's passing. By the same token we remember Bob for his incredible Irish sense of humor. Bob could light up the room when he entered. We have fond memories of celebrating with you two and attending festivities. Bob will be sorely missed but we will remember the good times. Sincere condolences from the both of us and may Bob rest in peace. Love to all.

Bob was a special guy who always smiled no matter what! Never once showed us the pain he was in! He will be missed by so many, especially Jimmy and I. Cathy, Bryan, Spencer, Michael and Eric, my sincere condolences. The parting glass, "Since it fell into my lot, that Bob shall rise and you should not, He'll gently rise and softly call, Good night and joy be to all." Rest in Peace Bob and I hope that you are flying high over the hills of Ireland sipping on a good Irish whiskey!
