Heather Anne Foss
Nov 9th, 2024
Heather Anne Foss, 22, of West Yarmouth, MA passed away unexpectedly in Dennis, MA on Saturday, November 9. Heather is a native Cape Codder who graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School in 2020 and from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Psychology in 2024. She was employed by Cape Cod Health Care in the Outpatient Behavioral Psychology Department. She was hoping to pursue a Master’s degree in Child Behavioral Psychology.
Heather was passionate about life. She showed this by teaching children to swim through AquaSafe at Sandwich High School, caring for infants at the Sunflower Day Care Center, and babysitting, often at no charge. She also enjoyed the beach, especially 4-wheeling on Nauset and paddle boarding at Sandy Neck. But the sunsets were her favorite, especially on the boardwalk at Bass Hole. She enjoyed her life on the UNH campus and tailgating before football games with her roommates and friends. None of these passions would mean anything to Heather without the friends and family who meant the world to her.
Nothing excited Heather more than cheering on the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox, (except maybe travelling, especially to Cali) and she attended every championship parade she could get to in Boston. She grew up with Australian Shepherds and has two cats, DUI and Glee. There was never an animal she met that she did not love.
Heather is survived by her parents, Holly Foss, of West Yarmouth, MA and Peter Foss also of West Yarmouth, MA. She was predeceased by Earl and Marge Foss, her paternal grandparents, and Judith Hamm and Paul Kniznik, her maternal grandparents. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle Jackie and Richard Day of Concord, NH and Julie Kniznik and Dan Schneider of Wayland, MA and her cousins Paul, Jenna and Ellie Schneider of Dedham, MA and Benjamin Schneider of Mesa, AZ.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. Contributions in Heather’s memory may be made to the MSPCA – Angel (www.mspca.org).
