Kenneth Walker was born on September 30, 1957 and passed away on September 23, 2024 due to complications from West Nile virus. He was 66 years old. He is survived by his wife, Dianne and their three children Tatum, Jack and Sierra. He is also survived by his six siblings, Diane, Kevin, Dennis, Maureen, Mary, and Teresa, their wives and husbands, as well as his nieces and nephews and countless friends. We are all shocked and devastated by his sudden passing.

Ken was a shark in all trades and a man always in motion. As a talented Hall of Fame athlete, his passion for competition earned him head coaching roles on youth sports teams, had him competing in countless golf tournaments, and sailed him into the deep Atlantic Ocean to find the most impressive catch. He navigated through family life with an unconditional love for his wife and children, creating a reliable safety net beneath them. He had a hilarious sense of humor and would often play pranks on his family, friends and coworkers. Ken decided to retire early and moved to Cape Cod with his wife where he hit the ground running. The days were filled with golfing, fishing, friends and family up until his very last day. For that, we are very grateful.

Dianne, Tatum, Jack and Sierra, words cannot even describe how kind and thoughtful you all are, not only during Kenny’s hospital course but also post. Allison said it beautifully below, your family’s love and strength is rare and one of a kind. It was an honor to have taken care of Kenny, as well as gotten to witness the love and support you all shared with one another. You all were an unforgettable family and every time I see an owl, I’ll be thinking of you all and Kenny. ❤️❤️❤️

Dianne, Tatum, Jack and Sierra; It was an absolute honor to care for Kenny during his illness, being with him through to the end. I have been thinking of you all. Please accept my condolences to the entire Walker family for the loss of Kenny. I was shocked and heartbroken to hear of his passing. Although we drifted apart after high school and college the memories we shared will last a lifetime. We met in first or second grade at Holy Redeemer along with Danny Desalvo and we were inseparable. Growing up we played kickball and stickball with the other neighborhood kids in the street on Woodbine Drive. Kenny was the star pitcher on our Little League team where he threw a no hitter shutout game in 6th grade. We switched to lacrosse in7th grade and won the championship that year. Even as a kid, Dit was the ultimate competitor which I attribute to the constant harassment from his older brothers. The stories and great times we had together could fill a book. I also owe him a debt of gratitude for helping me get a job with Airborne Express. Fresh out of the Marines and looking for a job, he put in the good word and I got hired for them working at JFK. It was always a pleasure to run into him at Airborne and talk about the good old days. May God bless your family and give you the strength to carry on.

I have often said, when I grow up, I want to be just like Ken! He was my idol. I do know for a fact that heaven is a much better place with Ken there every day and we will miss him.

I was just told about Ken’s passing from another Oswego roommate and I am so sad! I shared a house with Kenny and 3 other lacrosse players for one semester. I got to see him years later at an alumni lacrosse game. I myself did not play, but loved living with the players. Great guys and Kenny was one of the best! My condolences to his wife and family. I have fond memories of Kenny and hope yours will comfort you now and in the future.

...and his canine child Charlie, who he adored and by whom Kenny was adored. I will miss the chuckle or two always had when Kenny would drop off or pick up Charlie. Deepest condolences to his family.
