Alison Nina (Lucas) Kirwin
Jul 30th, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Alison Nina (Lucas) Kirwin, 48, of Yarmouth Port, MA on July 9, 2024. Alison was born on September 7, 1975 to Edna (Brienzi) Tavares and Melbourne “Buster” Lucas Jr.
Alison had a personality that could only be described as larger than life. Anyone who truly knew her loved her and would surely smile at her memory, the way she could command a room, her sense of humor and her love of family, friends and people in general was a testament to her life. While working a day job and taking care of her own children Alison earned an Associates Degree in nursing from Quincy College. After earning her nursing license she specialized in the care of critically ill children. This was not a job but a passion which defined a portion of her character.
Alison leaves behind her mother Edna (Brienzi) Tavares (her late husband Robert) and her father Melbourne Lucas and his wife Maria.
Alison also leaves behind three children, her son Liam Thacher Kirwin and two daughters Mia and Aeryn Kirwin and their dad William Kirwin: her sisters Patricia Hopkins and her husband, George of New Bedford, Tracy Tavares and her partner Tom of Fairhaven, Cheryl Foisy and her partner Robert Lamb of New Bedford: brother Robert Tavares Jr. and his wife April of Virginia Beach, VA: brothers Michael Ardolino, his wife Jillian and their sons Cam and Christopher, nephews Timothy and Christopher Keefe, Michael Ardolino and his wife, Jillian, sons Cam, Christopher and Jamie Ardolino and his partner Tara Carloni, daughter Cailin Ardolino and Melbourne Lucas III and his wife Ryanna and son Melbourne IV: nieces Elizabeth Dube, Samantha Haskins, Jessica Robelo and Amanda Lamb: great niece Aria Nunes and great nephews Jeffrey Leshyk, Brentley Haskins and Cory Nunes Jr.
Alison also leaves behind her love and life partner Edward Ormston Jr., their dogs Cooper and Sandy and cats Bobos and Loki .
There are countless uncles, aunts, cousins and friends not mentioned because she had so many.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 4-7 P.M.
Alison had a special connection with our friend Wayne “JB” Boyd and the Parkinson’s Foundation. Contributions may be made to AFDA American Parkinson Disease Association.
Her absence leaves us shattered forever.

Our deepest sympathy for you loss. Ali is a beautiful person and friend. She was sweet, kind, compassionate and caring - always putting others before herself. Ali would always notice if you were off, not well or had something on your mind and she would check in asking if you were alright. She is in the hearts of her friends including all of us who are part of the Pixie Chick crew! Many fun times filled with laughter and hugs. Our thoughts are with you and send you all much love, the Blickens Family
