Clifford W. Johnson, Sr. of South Yarmouth, MA passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the age of 91. Clifford was born in Worcester, MA to Clifford D. and Siiri (Hautanen) Johnson. He grew up in Auburn, MA where he lived until moving to South Yarmouth over 20 years ago. He was a veteran of the United States Army and during his time stationed on Germany, his eldest son was born.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Jacquelyn (Conant) Johnson, daughter Cathy Masters and her husband Delbert of South Yarmouth, son James and his wife Cheryl of Auburn, MA, son Jeffrey of South Yarmouth, MA, daughter Janel Von Hone and her husband Kurt of Chino Valley, AZ, 6 grandchildren, Nathan (Lauren), James (Cindy), Taylor, Olivia (Jeremy), Jeremy, and Cody, 8 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, his brother Francis, sister Janice (Paul) and brothers-in-law Bryant and Donald, as well as many nieces and nephews. Clifford was predeceased by his parents, his son Clifford Johnson, Jr., son-in-law Hobart McChristian, and sister Katherine Wilson.
His love for fishing, hunting, reading, watching sports and eating sweets was surpassed only by his love for his family. He was always happy to lend a hand to anyone who needed one.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth, MA. A private burial will be held at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in Auburn, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Clifford’s memory to the Hearing Loss Association of America.
