Alexander (Sandy) Booth III, 72, of West Yarmouth, MA, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Cape Cod Hospital.
Sandy was born in Providence, RI to parents Virginia Booth and Alexander N. Booth Jr. He joined the USCG in January of 1970. During his career with the US Coast Guard, he held many positions, including being one of the last lighthouse keepers for Boston Light on Little Brewster Island. He was honorably discharged from the USCG in the early 90's. Most recently he was employed by JW Tree & Whitten Landscaping. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, visiting friends and customers (and their dogs), but most of all he loved spending time with his granddaughter who he could not say no to!
Sandy is survived by his children, Karena Booth of West Yarmouth, MA and Alexander Booth of Harwich, MA. His Granddaughter, Isabella Turner-Idoria of West Yarmouth. His siblings, Craig Booth of FL, Robert Booth of RI, and Karen Booth of FL. He is predeceased by his parents Virginia and Alexander Booth, brother Mark Booth, and his longtime partner / fiancé Gail Yattaw.
Visiting hours will be on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 1pm-3pm at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, a private burial will take place in October at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
