Mark P. Baker, 59, of Yarmouth Port, passed away quietly on June 10, 2024 at his home in Yarmouth Port. Mark was the third child of Donald T. and Sara P. Baker and was born at the Cape Cod Hospital on March 27, 1965.

Mark attended Yarmouth schools from kindergarten through high school, and he graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School in 1983. He played trumpet in the D-Y marching band and went on to play bass guitar in area rock bands after graduation.

He was a keen sailor, and he helped sail a 54-foot sailboat to Florida. While there, he earned his captain’s license, and used it to deliver boats to and from the Bahamas.

Mark worked in Florida and Georgia before returning to the Cape where he worked several jobs related to the marine and hospitality industries. Mark leaves behind his siblings Bruce Baker of Falls Church, Virginia and Sandy Parsons of Marion, Iowa as well as several cousins and their families.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Federated Church of Hyannis, 320 Main St, Hyannis, MA on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM.

Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth Port Library.
