Elaine “Lainey” McGinn Savage, died on June 11, 2024, with her family by her side. Born in Boston, and proudly raised in South Boston, Lainey was the devoted wife to John who preceded her in death. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. She worked for many years in the accounting department of the YMCA.

Lainey spent the majority of her life in Quincy and Cape Cod, where she and John raised their two sons. Family and friends were the most important part of her life, and she took great joy in gatherings. Lainey also loved traveling to Aruba, going out for dinner, and spending time with her grandson, Jayce. Lainey leaves behind her son David, his wife Linda, and their children Max, his wife Kelsey, and Mallory and her fiancé, Nick. She also leaves behind her son, Danny and her beloved grandson, Jayce, as well as her sisters, Mary Lou Lema, Judy Egan and her husband Jimmy along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth. Memorial will immediately follow at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lainey’s honor to the St. Jude’s Foundation, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

David and Danny, I just heard that your mother passed away in June. I’m so sorry for your loss. We knew each other for many years and I will miss her friendship. I hope you receive this message and are able to email or call me. Jan Keefe

Judy sad to hear about your sister passing. It’s very difficult loosing our family members. All we can do is remember all the good times we had with them and cherish the memories in our hearts.
