Our dear mother, Deborah Cotell, sadly passed away on May 31, 2024, at the age of 71 years. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community in West Yarmouth, MA, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Joseph Cotell Jr.. She also leaves behind her son Joseph Cotell III, her daughter Phyllis Jean Cotell, as well as her siblings Pam Duchesneau, Herbert Elland, Susan Stewart, Steven Elland, Tracy Miller, and John Elland as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, grand puppies and friends who felt her warmth and generosity.
Deb attended Dennis Yarmouth schools graduating from D-Y high school in 1971. She loved and actively played sports throughout her high school years. Deb also attended the Art Institute of Boston graduating with an associates degree in Art. She continued working in the art field through out her adult life. Her paintings have been displayed in multiple art shows throughout the years. She actively sold her crafts in crafts fairs for the past 24 years.
She was a long time active member of Living Hope Family Church in Hyannis, MA. It was her prayer that we all in our own unique ways will share God’s love with everyone we meet and continuing in faith, love, and hope.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; I will fear no one. The Lord protects me from all danger’ I will never be afraid. Psalms 27:1
I have asked the Lord for one thing; One thing only do I want: to live in the Lord’s house all my life, to marvel there at His goodness, and to ask for his guidance. In times of trouble He will shelter me; He will keep me safe in His temple and make me secure on a high rock. So I will triumph over my enemies around me. With shouts of joy I will offer sacrifices in His Temple; I will sing, I will praise the Lord. Hear me, Lord, when I call to You! Be merciful and answer me! When You said “Come worship me,” I answered “I will come, Lord.” Don’t hide Yourself from me. Psalms 27:4-9

Rest in Peace dear Deb. Most of my memories with you is during our childhood and teen years but they are good memories.
My heartfelt sorry goes out to you the family of Deb. I have known her my whole life we did not see much of each other through the years but when we did it didn't take long to catch up. Recently we shared a sorrowful time when our friend past away and have kept in touch since then. It is hard to believe she has left us so quick. I have a believe she is now with her Joe whom she missed every day and her other loved ones whom she spoke about often. She loved you all so very much and only wanted the best for all of you.
