Dottie and Sheldon enjoyed many happy years at their home "Marshaven", and Dottie was an avid watcher of the annual arrival of the Ospreys she named Olive and Oscar that nested on the marsh outside her window at the Bass Hole. Dottie and Sheldon’s paradise away from the Cape was Kauai where they vacationed for many years living like locals at Brennecke Beach.

Nana’s hand knit blankets and quilts were coveted gifts that were an expression of her love to her family. She was a revered professional in the restaurant business and her history included the Gateway Marina, Wheelhouse, Skipper, Blue Water, and the Captain’s Table. Dottie was also an avid reader, and a longtime Red Sox fan, she enjoyed gardening inside and out.

Dottie was an animal lover and her beautiful cat Snowy brought her much joy and happiness.

The family is holding a private ceremony and burial on May 29, 2024. The family will be planning a celebration of life for Dottie in September (when she would have been 90!). Mom, Nana Bunny, & Dottie, you will live forever in our hearts.

Sheldon and Family, Words can not express my sadness for the loss of Dottie, “Nana Bunny”, “Mom Two” (I called her that after my Mom passed). Dottie was my Mom’s (Helen) very, special dear friend. She had been in our lives since we had moved to the Cape in the early 70’s. Many, many fun and wonderful memories with Dottie. Dottie was “My Rock” when my Mom was sick and during her passing and beyond. I will miss sending “granddaughter pictures” and keeping in touch. She always had the kindest, biggest heart. She was there ALWAYS during the good and bad times. I am honored to have had such a wonderful, classy lady in my life. My love and prayers to Sheldon and family. Sending “Angel Kisses” up to Heaven. Much Love, Sherry
