Michael R. Dennehy, 55, of West Yarmouth, previously of Randolph passed away on May 6, 2024 after the most courageous battle with ALS. Born to Carol Dennehy and the late Robert Dennehy, Mike is survived by his loving wife Julie (Hubbard) Dennehy who had the pleasure of taking care of him through his battle. Mike leaves behind a legacy of love with his children Liam (fiancé Ryann McIntire) of Chatham, Sean and Ryan Dennehy of Harwich. Mike was most proud of his boys and they were the apple of his beautiful blue eyes. He was an amazing Dad and taught his boys so many life lessons through the years that they will always treasure.

Mike accomplished so much in his career. He passed Nursing School and ended up in Medical Device Sales. His most loved job was when he joined Cook Medical. Not only did he love his job and looked forward to it every day, but he gained amazing lifelong friends who became family to him and Julie. After coming home from work, he would jump on the golf course that abuts his home and play 9 quick holes every chance he got. Mike was so talented and gifted. He learned a lot from his Dad and could make, build or fix anything.

Mike is also survived by his caring siblings Peggy Hambly (Paul) of Mashpee, Steven Dennehy (Christine) of Norton and Kellie O'Brien (Tom) of Holden. His mother and father-in-law Patricia and Tom Hubbard of Marshfield, sister-in-law Cathy Reilly (Jeff) of Hingham, brother-in-law Tom Hubbard (Sam) of San Francisco and his best pal and caretaker Michael Hubbard (Mashpee). Mike and Michael had an incredible bond and Mike looked forward to Michael's daily visits and banter about the news of the day and also hearing about his treasures he would proudly show off. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who adored him as "Uncle Mike". Mike's cousin John was like another brother to him and they shared the same sense of humor.

Mike was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served our Country. If not for the assistance from the VA, Mike and Julie would not have been able to manage this horrific disease. We are forever grateful for their assistance and would like to thank Dr. Thakore, Naomi, Michelle and Bernadette for all their compassion and assistance through this journey. We would also like to thank the VNA Hospice team that also became family to us. Cindy, Scotty, Lori...we love you guys and are so grateful for your love, gentle caring ways and support. Finally, our CCALS family. Ron Hoffman...thank you. CCALS has been a God send to us.

Mike leaves a legacy of love and kindness that will never be forgotten. He was incredibly generous and was always looking for ways to help others. He embodied the best qualities of love, strength and a strong devotion to his family and friends. If Mike loved you, he told you all the time. He will be deeply missed by all who shared this love with him and his memory will live on in the hearts of all of us. We are all better people for having him in our lives.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth, MA. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Pius X Church, Station Ave, South Yarmouth. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts Nation al Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to CCALS. PO Box 1052, West Falmouth, MA 02574 or www.CCALS.org. This would make Mike happy knowing how much this will help other families in need who are fighting this devastating disease.

Julie I worked with Mike and Rubin for years. Mike was my dearest work friend. I remember he called me the day he left MGH just after hearing the dx.:( I have followed your FB posts for years and treasure all the memories we had together. Mike was a good hearted, generous, funny guy. He will be missed but never forgotten. I have some pictures of us with Rubin when I got them to donate a plug for a patient in Boston. Mike made it happen. He was always making it happen to help others. I will send the pictures to you thru FB.

Dearest Julie, I started to read Mike’s obituary and my eyes filled up and tears started rolling down my cheeks. Even though we knew this day would be coming it still feels like a shock. I witnessed your unwavering love and devotion that you freely gave to Michael throughout his battle with ALS. You were by his side, his full time caretaker, his sounding board, his everything. You have been nothing less than amazing and he was blessed to have you by his side. My sincerest sympathies to you and to all of Michael’s family. May he rest in peace.

Dear Julie and family, I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting you. Mike serviced the sprinkler system at our Chatham home for my husband and I. We instantly loved him when we met. When he learned my husband had cancer he came to the house to talk to us. We always enjoyed seeing him. My heart goes out to you. You have been through so much. I will keep you in my prayers. With deepest sympathy, Jane Giallonardo Franklin, Ma
