Lois D'Avolio, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024, at the age of 75. Born in Hingham, MA, Lois lived a life filled with love, joy, and cherished memories.

Lois graduated from Hingham High School in 1965 and later earned an Associate Degree in Medical Terminology from Massasoit Community College in 1980. She dedicated 32 years of her life working alongside Dr. Peter Rufleth, OBGYN, where she formed lasting friendships and made a positive impact on countless lives until their retirement together in 2018.

In 1967, Lois married the love of her life, Charles J. D'Avolio, and together they raised two daughters, Sherry Goncalves and Susan D'Avolio, in Hanover and South Yarmouth, MA. Their journey together spanned over 56 years, filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion.

Lois had a passion for quilting, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She cherished moments on their boat, the "SueShe," out of Barnstable Harbor, Millway Marine, and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially relaxing days at the beach.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Charles J. D'Avolio, daughters Sherry Goncalves, her husband Geraldo Goncalves of Marstons Mills, MA and Susan D'Avolio of Sarasota,FL., three grandsons, Alex, Daniel, and Joseph Goncalves, two great-grandchildren, Bella and Hudson, and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Also survived by her two younger sisters, Sharon Laquerre of Corpus Christi, TX, and Janet Noland of South Yarmouth.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a short service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth, MA. A private burial will follow at Liberty Plain Cemetery in Hingham, MA.

Lois was one in a million. A good friend loved by many, a talented quilter, a great mother and grandmother, a child of God. She is missed.
