Richard J. Milton
Apr 25th, 2024
Richard was born in Rochester, New York, on October 18, 1943. He was raised in a close-knit Catholic Italian American family. He enjoyed serving as an altar boy, and his father would always be there to watch him participate in church services. In 1982, Richard met his wife, Barbara, and they were together for over 40 years. They raised their two children in Rochester, encouraging them to immerse themselves in art, literature and music. Richard earned his BS in Business Management at the Rochester Institute of Technology and built an esteemed career over 37 years as a Purchasing Consultant at Xerox. He loved to travel and his work took him all over the world. Eventually, he retired and spent the past fourteen years with Barbara in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He passed away on April 25, 2024.
Richard loved golfing with his son, John, and was an avid sports fan. He took joy in coaching youth baseball and football teams for many years. He would gleefully bankrupt his family in Monopoly. He loved reading and would often read his favorite books many times over. He brought his family on summer vacations in the Adirondacks or in Cape Cod, where we'd spend days racing each other in the pool or lounging on the beach. He enjoyed making his mother’s recipe for spaghetti and meatballs, a Milton family tradition. The only person who may love peanut butter more than he did is his daughter, Jennifer.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Donald Milton; mother, Nancy Milton; and two brothers, Robert and Donald Milton.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barbara Milton; son, John Milton; daughter, Jennifer Milton and daughter-in-law, Gabriella McDaniels; nieces Andrea (Karl) Bucella and Leah Milton; nephews, Steven (Carolyn) and David (Jamie) Milton; great-nieces and great-nephews Connor, Valerie, Owen, Penelope, Max and Xander; and many cousins.
