Edward Weissberger, 83, died after a brief illness on April 3, 2024. Born in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late Arnold and Louise Weissberger and brother of the late Dorothy Weissberger. He was an undergraduate student at Brown University and received his Doctorate in Chemistry from Stanford University.

Edward taught chemistry at Wesleyan University and was a research scientist at Eastman Kodak where he worked among other things on the development of digital photography. He was also on the board of the Historical Society of Old Yarmouth and the Yarmouth Port Library. Edward was an avid reader and accomplished woodworker and turner. He enjoyed being a part of a book club with friends.

He and his wife loved hiking and traveling, especially exploring the United States in his small private plane that he piloted. Extraordinarily generous, he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He participated in many activities at the Unitarian Universal Church in Barnstable where he had many friends. He is survived by his wife Ruth, stepchildren Mark Isenhart, Maria Nicholson, and his stepbrother and sisters Robert Calihan, Sara Koch, Martha Beardsley, and Elizabeth Calihan.

We are so sad to know that Ted will not be there to share to share treasured memories and many laughs with us this summer. Yarmouthport and Yarmouth were made better by his involvement. We appreciated the he and Ruth made a trip to Florida to visit us, the photo of Jack and Tedwith the fish is one special memory we look at frequently. Our thoughts are with Ruth and family today and beyond.
