Robert “Bob” Jones of East Dennis, MA, formally of Stoneham, passed away on March 8, 2024 at the age of 97.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Eadie (Taylor) Jones in 2014 and his son, Marc Jones in 2013.

Born in Cambridge, MA on February 9, 1927, he was the son of the late Wesley and Catherine Jones.   He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Silverstein in 1945 during WWII.

He retired from TRW in Cambridge after over 30 years and moved to Cape Cod to become the “candy man”, working for M&M Mars for many years.  Bob loved to dance and he and Eadie were quite the dance couple.

Bob is survived by his son Ken Jones, his wife Jan of Bridgewater and their three children, Bob, Christine and Jennifer and his daughter Kathy DeMeyer of East Dennis and her two children, David, and James.  He also leaves behind five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Bob was an active parishioner at Our Lady of the Cape Church helping with custodial duties and anything that involved working in the kitchen. He was an usher at the 4 P.M. Mass on Saturday for several years. He was also a recipient of the Marian Medal.
 
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 11A.M. at Our Lady of the Cape Church, Stony Brook Road, Brewster, MA.   The burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at1:45 P.M.

Dear Kathy, I read about your dad's passing. Sad as it is to lose a parent, I know you will find comfort in knowing your dad was blessed with a long, full life and is now at peace and reunited with your mom.
