Rosemary LaRue
Mar 7th, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosemary E. LaRue from a prolonged courageous battle with cancer. Rosemary passed away on February 29, 2024, with her daughter by her side and endless loving prayers and thoughts from her devoted family and friends. She is the beloved daughter of John Patrick Dunne of Collinsville, Connecticut and Winifred McMahon of Unionville, Connecticut. She is predeceased by her oldest sister Winnie Dickau and survived by her middle sister Donna Gritman. She leaves behind two children, Trish Galiette-Collucci and Jason T. Galiette, and her grandson Rocco J. Collucci.
A graduate of Bristol Eastern, she worked, traveled, raised a family, and then re-entered the workforce to create and run a department at the Hartford Insurance Company for many years. If she wasn’t decorating, renovating, or gardening, she was making cookies for her mechanics, neighbors, or anyone else she saw with kindness. She loved to entertain and have fun year-round. Her love of 5-speeds and fast cars is a testament to her bravery and fearlessness, and a window into just how fun she was, and always will be. She was happiest on the beach and laughing with friends.
Rosemary’s Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Chapel, 32 Summer St, Yarmouthport on Saturday, March 9th at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Chandler Gray Cemetery.
Guest Book
Rose was my sweet neighbor for over 20 years. We had fun chatting, eating out, gathering with other neighbors in the twilight on a back deck, or just walking back and forth to pass a few minutes time. She loved her family and took pride in their accomplishments. She loved her homes and gardens and worked hard to maintain it all. Her outdoor decorations changed with the season and the holiday that was being celebrated. I will remember Rose with a smile as soon as the tears stop. She will be so missed. I send heartfelt sympathy to all who loved her.
