Kevin P McGlone
Jan 19th, 2024
Kevin P. McGlone, a resident of Sandwich, peacefully passed away on January 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bryantville to the late Rosanna (Delaney) and Robert G. McGlone, Kevin was a proud graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School, known for his natural comedic flair and storytelling.
A dedicated farrier, blacksmith, and equine dentist, Kevin embarked on a creative journey in his bright yellow 1950s van, Mabel. His love for animals blossomed during his teenage years when he purchased his first horse, Champion O’Toole, whom he competed with in several riding competitions. Kevin's passion for animals grew as he trained his four beloved golden retrievers, Nick, Tucker, Crockett, and Belle. Kevin, a lifelong supporter of the Red Sox, also played catcher in the Pembroke Little League as a boy, coached by his brother-in-law Mike Gillen and his brother Joe McGlone.
As a child, Kevin loved figuring out how things worked. When he built a fort in the woods, it was built to last. He was a master craftsman, designing and building everything from homes to custom furniture to wooden boats. Beyond his professional pursuits, Kevin had a rare appreciation for nature and machinery. Always tinkering with spare parts as he expressed his creativity through carpentry, and welding, leaving behind a legacy of creations for his loved ones. Kevin and his wife, Lisa, often spent weekends along the beach in Truro admiring the waves, and wildlife and searching for the best ice cream scoop.
Kevin is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Lisa McGlone, as well as his loving sisters Mary Gillen, Gerri McGlone, Katie McGlone; his brother Bob McGlone, and beloved mother-in-law Rosanne Tavares and sister-in-law Terri Ahern. He leaves a loving legacy behind through his eighteen cherished nieces and nephews. He is now in the company of his devoted family who passed before him, including his brothers Mike, Shawn, Joe, and Brian McGlone. Known for his unwavering code of ethics and values of honor, loyalty, and dignity, Kevin touched the lives of many. He never shied away from helping someone in need, going the distance for a friend, and being beside you when you needed him most.
Kevin's memory will live on through the love he shared with his family and the lasting impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him. Private services were held by his immediate family. Guest Book
I remember Kevin. My brother Lester and Kevin were very close. Kevin could always make me laugh. I'm sure he will be missed by people that knew him. He will in my good memories. RIP Kevin McGlone I'll never forget you
One night, shortly after Joe died, my kids were late getting down from the top of Lafayette mountain in NH. It was so dark and so much time had passed that I thought I had lost them forever. I was a wreck. Kevin marched up that mountain alone to find them and he did. He was forever my hero after that.
I knew Kevin through his wife, Lisa. But in knowing one, you know the other. So reading about his amazing talents is no surprise. He always showed his help to me and others around me.a pure gentleman as a common friend said about Kevin. This godly earth lost a good one and heaven is that much luckier for Kevin's ascension. He will be missed but certainly not forgotten.
Kevin was a wonderful person. Caring and compassionate, he was always willing to help friends and family. The way he cared for Lisa, and all of their family members, was a testament to his kindness. I will miss him.
