Marilyn LaCasse, 95, of Brewster, MA formerly of Lanesborough, MA, passed away on October 4, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Marilyn was born in Pittsfield, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Anne (Slater) Phillips.

Marilyn worked at the Lanesborough Elementary school for many years. After she retired, she enjoyed traveling cross-country on Amtrak, with the love of her life, Erwin, who she was married to for 74 years. She also enjoyed camping on the Cape for many years with her family and eventually they moved to the Cape and built their permanent home. She did volunteer work at the local swap shop. She enjoyed tracing her family history, cooking, baking (especially her homemade donuts which everyone loved) sewing, crocheting and gardening.

Marilyn was a wonderful person. She was Mom to many and Gram or Nana to many more. She had a beautiful smile and was always there for her loving family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, but will be in our hearts forever.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Keith (Jackie) of New Ashford, Dennis (Lois) of Pittsfield, Gary (Linda) of Lanesborough, Paul (Terry) of Pittsfield, Brian (Debbie) of Savoy, and two daughters, Diane Newton of Hancock and Marcia Fields of Brewster and a sister, Karen Welch of South Carolina. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Erwin, who passed away on December 9, 2022 and her daughter, Susan Bristol also her brother Robert Phillips and sister Florence Tooley.

Funeral services to celebrate the lives of Marilyn and Erwin LaCasse will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 9 AM to 11 AM at the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA. Burial will follow at The Mountain View Cemetery in Lanesborough, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Brewster Fire Department in care of The Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
